The Night Manager is set to return for a second series after director Susanne Bier revealed in an interview with Broadcast that a script is in the works. She told Broadcast that a script for the follow-up to the 6 episode adaptation of the le Carré novel is “slowly being developed” for the BBC and AMC.

A second series of the drama would mark the first time a le Carré adaptation has gone beyond the original text of one of the author’s books.

The script is being written by a “team of writers”. David Farr said last year to Variety that he is not keen on working with the follow-up, so it might well be that he is not involved with the new script.

The original 6 episode series of The Night Manager aired in February 2016. Tom Hiddleston starred in the leading role.
